Fall is here!

Fall is here!

Cut out stamped leaves made a nice embellishment for this fun little pumpkin card.
I used two colors of green to double mat my pumpkins and a single mat for the word Fall. I also edged the white with green ink to give it a finished edge.  Hope you enjoy trying this fun card.

The Fat Chef

I used this digi print and colored with pencils and used Mineral Spirits to blend the color.  I also highlighted the edges of the card stock to soften the edges and chose my paper in similar colors to compliment the picture.  Then I stamped the flower branch in black and Embossed with Clear Gloss. As a finishing touch I used Glossy Accents on the flowers.

Nana's Storage, Organization and Tips

Organizing left over Paper Card Stock

You can always use little scraps of left over paper.  I use the large gallon plastic storage bags to keep them organized.   I buy the bags with the white label and mark the color with a sharpie marker.  I like this method because you can easily see what's inside the bag.  I usually tidy up the scraps by cutting off the jagged edges.  This way the pieces slide in and out easily.

                                                            Organizing Colored Pencils

For my colored pencils.  I found that an empty drink mix container works perfectly.  I just removed the label.   It matched my tape dispenser that I've had for years. :)

Organizing small tools

A picnic cutlery /napkin holder is perfect.  Just use the spaces for pens, glue sticks, tweaser, etc.

Items in easy reach

I rescued  this small bar with hooks from the trash my husband was tossing out.

Learning Coloring Techniques

Colored pencil techniques using Mineral Spirits

As a beginner it's most affordable to print digis and color them with either markers or pencils.  Of course there are all kinds of mediums to use but the most affordable is plain colored pencils.  You don't have to buy a special kind just to get started.
To make your color look smooth and blended I would recommend you use mineral spirits and smoothing tools like the ones I have pictured.
Simply dip your tool in the mineral spirits and go over your color, blending and shading as you go.
example: The little girls dress and bunny have two different shades to give them dimension.
You'll need to stop and file away the color left behind on your tool occasionally when moving to a different area of color.  This is done with a simple emery board.  Just run your pencil over the emery board till all the color is removed.

Scallop Circle Easel Card

I did this card for the Scrapbook Blessings Club tutorial challenge #2.
As a relatively new scrapper I don't have all the special die cutting tools needed to do this challenge so I needed to improvise.   I found a pre-cut packet at a local craft store and to make it more interesting  I used a small circle punch on the top circle.  After inking the edges of the bottom die I stacked them so you could see both colors.

Closet maker-over to Craft Desk

Here is my small space organization...

I hated getting out all my supplies and having them strewed all over my kitchen table.  I even tried putting up a folding table in the living room, but it was a hassle to take down every time company came over.  So it was time to do something more permanent!

Who doesn't have a closet filled with junk?  After getting some ideas from online and my daughter, I tossed out the things I never used, and was able to design this wonderful space. Gratefully, my husband is very talented and was able to make my vision a reality.  I think he did an amazing job!  He even wired the closet space with lighting in the ceiling and outlets for all my tools, fan, additional light, etc.

Here are a couple of pictures I'd like to share with you...
Boxes at top serve as storage for completed
albums and projects as well as pictures to be scrapped

My new adventure in blogging.

Hello, Welcome to Nana Luv's to Scrap.  Designed for the beginner Scrapper.  If your new to Scrapbooking or card making you may enjoy some of the tips and money saving ideas posted here.  Come and grow along with me on this adventure of blogging!

I go by Nana or Nina and sometimes even Nana-Banana or BaNina depending On which Grandchild your talking to. It doesn't matter because it all translates into love.  I have a lovely crazy overly addicted to scrapbooking daughter that I adore.  My youngest daughter is currently serving in Ethiopia with her husband and two beautiful children as Missionary Associates and my son and his wife are busy blessing our family with our seventh grandchild.  Most importantly I've found love and support in that I'm newly married to the most amazing man after being widowed.  This wonderful guy supports this new passion of mine by waiting patiently while scrapping or shopping for supplies and he even created a fabulous closest makeover /craft desk.
